It's midweek, so I suppose everyone's happy they're 3(..?) days closer to the weekend! (Unless you're working on the weekend.. but I'm hoping this will cheer you up!)
Ashley wrote out her 5 favorite products, and I was wondering if I should do the same or perhaps change to 5 favorite skin regimes or 5 favorite types of masks; but just for consistency's sake I will be doing my 5 favorite products first.
// Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Glow (Pink Blast)
I've been using this for almost half a year and I've got absolutely no complaints, besides the fact that I keep losing the damned thing because it's so small. It's smooth, it glides on really well, and the color stay is rather good for a SGD$6 product.
I would actually compare it to Dior Addict's Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm in terms of color payoff. The only difference is (clearly) the price, and that Dior's is slightly more glossy. I've recommended this to many people, who have been very happy with it too. I have it in Pink Blast because I like a more vibrant color, but you can go with pink glow for a more subtle and natural look.
Find it any drugstore around you. (eg. Watsons/Guardian)
// Laneige Art Play Waterproof Eyeliner
This is one of the best liquid eyeliners I have ever used. I cannot give comment on the best pencil/gel because I have rather oily lids, and despite my best efforts, they always smudge on me. However, I have used a few waterproof eyeliners that do not budge, though this takes the cake.
It is felt tipped, so very easy to apply onto the eyelids, as opposed to the difficulty some may face while using brush tips. It stays on ALL DAY, and only comes off with a good makeup remover. You may need to be patient though, because it stays so long it actually refuses to come off sometimes. The product is rather pricey, I actually got it as a gift as mine is a limited edition, but you can get their normal ones which are about SGD $30.
Find it at any Laneige Booth in department stores.
// Nars Orgasm Blush
Now I know many people have raved about it, so I am just going to join the bandwagon because it is that good. The result is a very natural pink with gold flecks which actually help to illuminate the skin. I buff mine in using a Sigma Round Kabuki Brush (F82) so the color stays on longer and remains more distinct than merely brushing it onto the skin.
For me, It lasts almost all day, ending with a very very subtle pink glow on my cheeks. For others, I know theirs actually do not last as long. As mentioned, I think it's because I buff mine into my skin. A little really does go a long way, so do not apply too much. There's once that I did, and Ashley thought I got sunburnt.
Find it at Tangs Departmental Store.
// Bobbi Brown Corrector (Light to Medium Bisque)
I come from a long line of pandas; and even if I don't, you'd never be able to tell. So if I had one thing I cannot live without (ABSOLUTELY!!!!), it would have to be eye concealer. I do not use concealer on any other part of my face as my acne cream already does that for me already - a product I will mention later. I did not really like Bobbi Brown's eye concealers when I first started using make up. That would have to be because I really did not know how to use make up.
I would not say I have improved to make-up artist level, but hey, I'm sure 6 years have definitely brought me somewhere. So the thing about these correctors/concealers from this particular brand is that you kind of have to start with a very very light layer first and let it dry. If by then you still look like you resurrected from the dead (a.k.a me), then add another layer and let it dry. (What I used to do before was pat it all in, thickness and what not, and end up with a super cakey lower eye.)
Anyway, after all that "letting dry", I dust on a very light layer of Guerlain's Meteorites as a form of loose powder onto my eyelids to set the concealer. On days where I still look like hell, I will dust another layer of Smashbox's halo powder below my eyes as well.
// Dr Hauschka Cover Stick in Shade 2
This is my lifesaver. Literally. Generally, I like to believe I have pretty good skin. But my hormones like to tell me otherwise; and when that happens, this comes to my rescue. I have been breaking out on my chin and the sides of my face, and some of those can get really red.
This cover stick helps me to dull out the redness (note: I did not say erase completely), and also heal my pimples at the same time. In terms of concealer power, I would give it a 3/5, but in terms of healing as a acne treatment, I would give it a 4/5. How I use it is I dab it onto my pimple, and then blend it in lightly around the edges. Easy Peasy.
Find it at any Dr Hauschka outlets, or Unity Super Market.
AND THAT'S MY 5 FAVORITE PRODUCTS (for this month)!!
We may or may not be putting up a video this friday as we are really quite behind on our schoolwork, but we will definitely try our best! :)
