Sponsored Review: #NewYearNewSkin with Erabelle’s Skin Softening Refiner

Today I'm back to talk about a very interesting product from Erabelle! I'm sure many of you know about Erabelle, seeing as they're highly popular for their embrow embroidery services.

I was shocked to learn, though, that they actually have skincare products (click link to see their online shop)! Am I the first? Am I, *sigh*, a noob? Ah well, it's never too late to pick up anything new though, as they say - so without further ado, let me introduce their Skin Softening Refiner! :)

About

This Skin Softening Refiner is otherwise known as the perfect skin smoothie that doubles up as a gentle exfoliating scrub and mask in one. It contains refined peach seed powder compounded with the goodness of honey and vegetal proteins. It delicately removes the superficial layer of dull and dry dead skin cells, sebum, and dirt, whilst improving the skin's clarity, tenderness and brightness.

Active Ingredients

1. Peach Seed Powder
Forget rough bits in scrubs that harm your skin. Erabelle Skin Softening Refiner has round peach kernels that add an extra ‘crunch’! The kernels gently but effectively remove dead skin cells that clog up the surface of the skin, allowing the nutrients of the ingredients to go into your skin.

2. Hydrolyzed Proteins from Vegetable, Silk and Corn
Like the goodness in a green smoothie, these ingredients contain the same amino acids as those of the skin proteins. They enhance the skin renewal process and fix up damaged skin tissues for rejuvenated skin with a smooth, velvety touch!

3. Honey
Let your skin slurp up the nutrients that it needs from this smoothie fix. Honey is rich in amino acids and vitamins that luxuriously moisturizes the skin with anti-oxidant and anti-bacterial properties. Find your glow from within again.

How to Use

Step 1: Apply a thin layer onto cleansed face.
Step 2: Wait 5-7 minutes for the products to “melt” into a thin transparent film.
Step 3: Scrub gently with fingertips then rinse with water and pat dry.

It is recommended to use this product once a week. If your skin shows sensitivity, then lessen to once in 2 weeks or once a month (after all, skin regenerates every 28 days).

It will be good to store the product in cool dry place, away from direct sunlight or heat.

Overall Thoughts

I have sensitive skin, meaning I end up not being able to use a lot of products that others seem extremely fine with. However, I did find this alright and my skin didn't react in any way that causes concern. The ONLY time there was a reaction was the first time I used it and I had some red patches (I used it at night) which disappeared within 30 minutes and remained gone even when I woke up the next morning. The subsequent times I used it, I experienced no redness nor sensitivity.

At the same time, I do try to use this ONLY once a week and not try to be itchy-handed or tempted to use it more than that. I especially like this because it helps me with my side-of-the-face acne.. Or well, not really acne but those really annoying whiteheads. You know those which appear in clusters and they're not quite/hard or ripe enough to remove? This helps push up some of them (NOT ALL, be patient!) and even allows some of them to just fall out on their own by the next or in the following days. Of course, I believe this works in conjunction with my skincare routine, so do try to use anti-blemish serums or Vitamin C to follow up if you do face acne issues.

All in all, I quite like using this on my facial pamper nights. It reminds me of an alternative to GlamGlow's Power Mud actually.. They both turn filmy and can be used to exfoliate dead skin cells. Gotta be honest though, Glam Glow's Power Mud's grains are finer which would be gentler and better for those with concerns, but the effects of this one is more obvious and requires lesser applications so you save more as well. Weigh out the pros and cons before you decide - after all, they range at about the same price. I do suggest using a moisturizing mask after though, because it's not all that hydrating. On the whole, still pretty amazing for days you just want that extra deep cleanse.

P/S: If I feel my skin is particularly sensitive on any given day when I use this, I skip out on the exfoliating step and just rinse it off!

Cost Full size (30g): $95 / Travel size (5g) - $28 (*prices inclusive of GST)
